Welcome Adaline Grace!

My wonderful friend Julie and her husband Josh welcomed their first child into the world yesterday at 5:48 pm. They had a beautiful baby girl who they named Adaline "Addie" Grace. She was 7 pounds, 15.4 ounces and 20 inches long. One of the first things I noticed was her cute little chubby cheeks and how she looks so much like her Mama. :-)

Congratulations Josh and Julie! I know how long you have awaited this moment and now she is finally here! Hug, kiss, cuddle, love, and spoil her all you can. Your family is in for the most exciting adventure. We can't wait to meet Addie and watch her grow up through the years.

PS - Julie, don't forget we have to get her and Aiden together for pictures. We can use those at their wedding and baby shower. HaHa.

When I Growed Up - Part 2

Yesterday when I picked up the kids, I told their sitter about how Alyssa wants to be a mermaid when she grows up. Kaylee overheard and mentioned that she also wants to be a mermaid. Angela said "Wow, maybe I want to be one too. Do they make a lot of money?" Alyssa started babbling on about how she will make lots of money for her piggy bank. We went to the car and had the following conversation:

Me: "Where are you going to go to become a mermaid?"

Alyssa: "We have to go to the beach."

Kaylee: "Yeah!"

Me: "Well I will miss you. Are you sure you should become a mermaid? I don't think they make lots of money. You need to be rich so you can buy mommy and daddy new houses and cars."

Kaylee: "I AM NOT GOING TO BE A WITCH MOMMY! I DON'T WANT TO BE A WITCH AND MAKE LOTS OF MONEY."

I guess the word "rich" and "witch" sound the same in her mind. HaHa.

A little sisterly competition

Every time Alyssa seems Aiden she says "I like baby brudder. I want to hoooold him." Kaylee used to be too busy to want to hold him much but we have officially entered the competition stage. I can't give a compliment to one without giving the same exact compliment to the other. I will tell Alyssa she is such a good big sister and Kaylee will come running from clear across the house screaming "Not me? Not me?" I have to reassure that yes, she is also a great big sister. We also have the matches to see who can run and get the diaper or bo-bo faster and then if Kaylee brings it first then Alyssa has to take it all the way back where she got it and bring it back to me so that they can both bring it to me. It makes things very interesting these days.

They do love to hold Aiden but they always make me laugh because Kaylee forever wants to stick her finger in Aiden's mouth so he can chew on it (don't ask me why!) and Alyssa tries to grab him and move him all around. The picture I got of her using him as a head rest really makes me smile. Don't worry... I didn't let her do that for long though.

15 Weeks Old!

Just some pictures of me having fun with my boy. He looked so cute in his overalls and was in such a good mood.

He is really into talking and will hold very long conversations with you and by himself when he is in his crib. The thing I am loving these days is that his hair is getting to be just like the girls when they were babies. His hair used to be silky soft but now it is getting fuzzy and sticks up like a little chickie. :-)

I am also enjoying how much more active he is. He never seems to stop kicking his legs or punching out his arms. It looks like he is punching me while I feed him because his little arm never stops coming at me. I am thinking we have a future athlete on our hands. Maybe a boxer or baseball player.

His new way to fall asleep is to suck on a blanket. I was glad to capture the last picture of that before turning off the camera. I am lucky to have such a good sleeper... and a sweet boy!

Hmm... my arm tastes pretty good

Let me tell you a story...

When I Growed Up

Last night Alyssa didn't want to go to bed. I brought her into bed with me and she cuddled up to me and started rubbing her nose against mine. That was a special "kiss" we made up when she was very small. It was nice to know she still remembers. She started whispering to me since she knew Kaylee and Aiden were sleeping and she was saying the funniest things.

Right before we were falling asleep she whispered, "Mommy, when I growed up I want to be a mermaid." Not really sure how that will work out for her but it sure was cute.

Thankful

It makes me thankful to see pictures of the kids looking so happy when I am away at work. But, it also breaks my heart that I am not the one there making them smile.

Thanks for the pictures, Angela. And more importantly, thanks for filling their days with things to make them smile.

Just testing this out. It is a short video of Aiden and it has sound.

Who is the real baby?

The girls can't seem to stay out of the baby toys. They put each other in the swing and sit in the bouncy seats to watch tv. I think they are a little confused about who the real baby is.

And yes, she is wearing her bathing suit inside. She decided that is what she felt like wearing that day. HaHa.

14 Weeks Old!

What are you up to at 14 weeks old?

You are holding your own head up really good, bringing things up to your mouth to chew on, giggling a lot more, grabbing for toys, and "talking" more. You are usually always smiling unless you are tired or hungry. You fight your sleep now because you are so nosy about what is going on around you. Your sisters love to both hold you at the same time and Kaylee thought it was really funny when you sucked on her hand. They also like to play "good dinosaur-bad dinosaur" with you like in the picture below. You love the noises they make with the toys and don't even seem to mind when they are not as gentle with you as Mommy would like. I think you have taken on the role of their favorite toy!

3 Month Check Up

Aiden had his 3 month check up yesterday. He weighed in at nearly 15 pounds which was in the 75% percentile for his age and he was off the charts for height at 25 1/2 inches long. According to the nurse that is the typical length of a 6 month old. I guess he will fit right in with the rest of us. He also had a shot which he hated. He turned bright red and then proceeded to scream for the next half an hour. I guess he wanted to make his dissatisfaction very clear. :-)

Little Monkey

A little of both worlds....

Who wants to just play with just girl toys or boy toys when you can have more fun playing with both?

Perfect example: Kaylee dressed up like a princess and wearing this mask while chasing her sister around trying to scare her. :-)

Babies Everywhere

There is only a 6 month difference between Aiden and his cousin Riley. They can't play together yet but I know they will have a lot of fun together in a few months.

Here are some pictures of them from this past Sunday. Some of them came out blurry but they are all cute!
