Who is this baby?

We visited Grandma's house over the weekend and we settled Aiden in the exersaucer to play for a little bit. Riley was clearly not used to seeing anyone else playing in her toy so (after finishing some yummy pizza) she wandered over to check him out. She walked all around the circle and was trying to touch and grab him from time to time and then would look at us. As if to say....

Who does this baby think he is? :-)

PS - Please note the five perfect chub rolls on Riley's arm. Can you get any cuter?

21 Weeks Old!

This baby boy is an eating machine. It doesn't matter what you give him... he gobbles it up. We have luck with all the veggies and fruit we tried. I like to see how his face lights up when he tries a new flavor. Especially when Daddy gives him birthday cake icing. :-)

I haven't had much time this week to take new pictures so here are a few extras from last weekend. This week has felt super long. Why is that always the case with short weeks?

A Bad Word

Just the other week my nephew Brendon was asking the girls to say a "bad word." I was so proud when Kaylee looked at him and just repeated "bad word." He tried a few more times but my innocent little baby thought he just wanted her to repeat what he was saying.

Now, fast forward to this past weekend. I was in the kitchen cleaning and the girls were running through the house playing and fighting a little bit along the way. I overheard what I thought to be the word "a$$." I thought to myself that I must have been imagining things but something made me think to ask.

Me: "Alyssa what did you just say?"
Alyssa: No response
Me: "Alyssa what did you just say?"
Kaylee: "Mommy, she said she will kick my a$$."

I am not going to speculate or place blame on who may have taught them that word (eh hmm... can we say Grandma?) but it took a lot out of me not to laugh and not to make it a big deal. I calmly explained that we don't say that word. Hopefully they won't be repeating it anytime soon... especially at daycare.

Shake It Baby

The girls love to dance at home. They ask Daddy to put on either "Mommy music" (more slow) or "Daddy music" (faster and louder). Alyssa loves to dress up in her heels and dresses. She does very dramatic entrances into the room before she starts dancing. Kaylee does this funny little dance all the time. All we have to do is say "Shake it baby" and she will get up and start shaking her hips. I tried to capture it on video but she didn't "shake it" as much as normal. It is usually way more exaggerated!

Labor Day Weekend

The weekend didn't have the best start but it ended up turning out pretty nice. I already shared about our junk fest on Friday. :-) We also had cake on Saturday to celebrate Grandma's birthday and then headed to a cook out at Tony's cousin's house on Sunday. The kids had a great time. Here a few pictures we took through the day.

I think my little point and shoot camera has about had it. All my pictures are either a little or a lot blurry these days. Or maybe it is just the operator! Anyway... you get the idea!

It was a great long weekend. Can't wait for another!
Can you tell how much this little man loves his sisters? And I kinda think the feeling is mutual. :-)

Visit to the French Fry House

On Friday we took my mom out to celebrate her birthday (her age will stay a secret!). She wanted to go to Fuddruckers and then to get Krispie Kreme donuts. Not the most healthy meal but who could beat that combination. :-)

We had a great time with just the girls. K&A said they were going to the "french fry house." That is what they call any place that serves french fries so imagine listening to that every time we pass a McDonalds or Wendy's. HaHa. Kaylee ate a lot of her food but Alyssa chose to overlook her hot dog and fries and focused instead on eating lettuce. Just plan lettuce. No dressing or anything! I don't know if she is my child!! They also enjoyed the donuts although they only ate the sprinkles off the top. My mom and I devoured ours. I don't think there is anything better than fresh krispie kreme donuts.

We headed home feeling very, very full. We stopped along the way to pick up Aiden and for the first time the girls didn't seem eager to see him. They said we could just leave him at Angwa's house. I guess they need some quality girl time more often.

Yummy lettuce
They picked off every single sprinkle

Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma!

20 Weeks Old!

Aiden has his first tooth and it seems like another may be on the way out. He is now officially trying baby food as well. He does very well with the cereal and last night he tried green beans for the first time. He wasn't really sure what to make of them at first but a big smile spread slowly across his face once he got a good taste. He ate about half the container which is pretty good for his first time.

We sit him next to his sisters in the Bumbo and he will try to play with their toys and watch them read their books. Kaylee does okay until he gets a hold of her favorite toys. Then she starts screaming that he will "spit all over them." HaHa. Alyssa is good until he grabs a hold of one of her pigtails. I am kinda worried she might hit him to get him off but so far she has just stayed very still and cried until I freed her hair. Let's hope it stays that way. At least for a while longer!

Overall, he is still a very happy boy. He loves to be tickled and will giggle at the silliest little things. The only thing I notice is that he has a very short attention span with his toys. You gotta move him from the swing, to the bouncer, to the play-mat, pretty quickly to hold his attention. I think he is ready to get up and crawl around with his sisters already. He also gets easily frustrated when he can't do something the way he wants to. Daddy blames me for that but I am not so sure I am responsible for that one. :-)

Photos of "baby brudder" taken by Alyssa. She figured out the zoom button and you can tell she really likes it. I help her steady the camera and she snaps away.

Terrible 3's?

I have to say that I think K&A were more mature and well behaved in their 2nd year than they have been in the last month or so. I am beginning to wonder if we are going to suffer from the Terrible 3's instead of the Terrible 2's.

I used to be able to let them run and play around the house with little supervision. They made a mess with their toys but rarely got into things they shouldn't. That has all changed in the last few weeks.

Here are a few things they have done in just the past few days:

1. Took hamburger seasoning into their kitchen and poured it into a pan. A pan that had holes in the bottom of course. Their whole play room spelled like those spices for a few days. They said they were cooking like Mommy.

2. Took my pump parts and spread them out all around their playroom. It was a lot of fun trying to find them all since they have some many special hiding places.

3. I found all of the pump parts but didn't realize that they had taken out the dish soap I keep in the bag. I first noticed that at work and realized they probably got a hold of that too. I came home to find the empty bottle that night but didn't figure out where they put it all. They said they put it in the bath. I later found that they meant their little doll bathtub. They poured it out all in the tub on top of a cabbage patch doll. They said they were giving the baby a bath like Aiden.

4. They decided that they needed to clean their kitchen set. I guess the best way to do that in a 3 year olds mind is to take baby lotion and cover the whole kitchen in a very thick layer. It took mommy forever to clean up their "cleaning job."

5. I had finally gotten Aiden to sleep and told the girls they had to stay in their room and be quiet as they were falling asleep. We heard them playing in their room but didn't think much of it. A while later I heard Aiden screaming and went upstairs to find K&A looking guilty. They had decided it would be fun to go in our room, turn on the light, and take all of Aiden's clothes out of the dresser to throw on the floor and jump in. Aiden was wide awake by that point and had no intentions of going back to sleep. I couldn't even deal with it. I had to call Daddy to handle that one!

6. They like to copy me so they want to feed their baby dolls just like I feed Aiden. They took some left over cereal (that I should have put in the sink right away) and were feeding their doll and wiping her mouth with a play dress. There was cereal everywhere.

Those are only a few of the things they have done lately. All I can say is that they are lucky they are so cute!

Is he always so happy?

A lot of people will ask me if Aiden is always smiling and laughing. The answer is most definitely "NOOOO." I choose to post all of the smiley pictures but my boy is not always so sweet.

His new thing is to start whining as soon as we put him down. He wants everyone to know how dissatisfied he is that he was put down when he clearly wants to be held. This is only a little taste of his crying. He will launch into full blown wailing if I walk out of his sight. I really wanted to capture the pouty bottom lip that he pokes out so well but no luck. :-)

Please excuse my voice in this video. I never realized how dumb my "baby talk" voice sounded until this moment.
