Getting Ready for Halloween (and maybe Easter too!)

Ready for Halloween? Alyssa decorated Daddy and Kaylee with these sparkly pumpkin stickers over the weekend. Don't they look pretty? :-)

But, it didn't take long for the girls to switch gears and Kaylee turned into an Easter Bunny complete with bunny ears and carrying around another pink bunny. As Kaylee would say, "hippity-hop!"

"I Reading Like Grandma"

The new game in our house is to find Alyssa and Kaylee. They do not sit still for one minute and never go in the same direction. The other day I was looking all around for Alyssa. She wasn't answering me which got me a little worried about what kind of mischief she could be causing. I looked in all the rooms and just as I was about to panic, I walked into my mom's bedroom and this is what I see:

It seems Alyssa decided to climb up into Grandma's bed, pull on the covers, put on her reading glasses and grab a book.

I had to rush and grab my camera before she noticed me and as I snapped the first pic, she looked up at me and said "I reading like Grandma, Mommy."

Isn't this a great look for her?

Our House

Many of you know that we bought a new home about 3 weeks ago but I figured I should officially share the news here. It was a hard decision to move away from family (boy, have we been spoiled!) but the timing was right for us and we couldn't have bought in a better market. We are very excited about the new house and can't wait to show it to all our family and friends.

We were looking for a home that could meet all of our needs and we feel like we definitely found it in this house. It is a Cape Cod (which I love), has 4 bedrooms, a 3 car garage (Tony is in heaven), and a nice, private yard. It has a lot of potential for a young family even though it does need some TLC to bring it out of the 80's. HaHa. Tony has been hard at work and we should be moved in within the next 2-3 weeks.

I will before and after pictures to share soon but here are just 2 small pics of the outside. These are actually not even from my camera... terrible I know.

I promise to share more picture of the house and of the girls soon. :-)

4 Year Anniversary

On this day 4 years ago, I married my very best friend. These past years have brought us lots of changes, plenty of ups and downs, and more blessings than we could have ever imagined possible. Through it all, our love has remained strong and I have never been more proud of our life together or to call this man, my husband.

I love you Tony!

A Trip to the Beach

The girls were crazy about the sand but loved the ocean water even more. I am totally jealous of my daughter's skin. We were only out for a few hours and they had on very strong sun-screen and still ended up with tan lines! Thank goodness they have Daddy's complexion.

Happy 2nd Birthday Kaylee & Alyssa

Happy 2nd Birthday my sweet girls. It is incredibly hard to believe that it has been two whole years since you entered this world and more importantly our lives. Your daddy and I often just stare at you in wonder. How could our tiny little babies go from this:

To this:

in just two short years? It never ceases to amaze us!

I have been thinking for a few weeks now what I should share on your 2nd birthday post. What could I say that would describe what life is like with the two of you as we near the end of this second year in your lives? The truth is that just like every other Mommy out there, I could go on and on forever about you; the things you say, the things you do, the cute little expressions you make, the way you make us laugh and occasionally want to cry, the way your personalities develop more and more each day. I could talk forever about you but yet there truly are no words to describe how far we have come together as a family in the last two years or to describe how exciting it is each and every day to have you in our lives. You have made us a family, made us complete, and have made our days so much "more" by just being you and just being ours. I am so thankful to be celebrating another year in your lives and I truly can't wait to see what the next year will bring.

Happy Birthday, my little princesses.

Love,
Mama

2 Year Old Portraits

We took the girls to get their 2 year portraits done a few weeks ago at JCPennys. After much coaxing and patience, we were able to get a few cute pictures but I think all of us were ready for a nap after leaving the studio!

Lesson Learned - Getting two 2 year olds to sit still for a photography session is about as physically draining as running a marathon. :-)

At least we have a year to recover before trying this again...

Enjoy!

2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated the girls 2nd birthday over the weekend. Their actual birthday is this Friday, August 22nd but we are headed on a family vacation next weekend so we celebrated a bit early. We chose a Dora theme for their party because they are totally in love with everything Dora related. I think it turned out pretty cute and everyone seemed to have a nice time.

Thanks for all the wonderful presents. The girls are truly blessed with so many family and friends who love them.

Here are a few photos from the party (courtesy of Jamie H.) Thank you so much for being our party photographer!
