14 Months Old!

Today Aiden turns 14 months old!

He is showing lots more personality these days and making it very clear what he likes and dislikes and what he wants when he wants it.  We had a good laugh about a week ago when he threw his first ever "temper tantrum" over not being able to have more yogurt.  He went all out with the dramatics including throwing himself on the floor, crying, and rolling all around.  :-)

He still isn't walking on his own yet but will cruise around with his walker. He kind of looks like a little old man!   We think he could easily walk on his own but he just isn't confident enough.  Guess we will see what the next few weeks bring.

Here are a few photos of him hanging out in the pool this past weekend.  This was his first experience in the pool and he loved it!

Love you little man!

Clouds

The girls love to say their prayers or as they say their "prays" every night before they go to sleep.  I love this time with them because they sounds so sweet reciting the childhood prayer that I have said for so many years.  I also love how they don't want to forget a single person so our prayer could go on forever and ever... if I let it.   :-)

We always make sure to mention "Uncle Icky" and this often leads to questions about heaven and what I think Rickey is doing up there.  They have asked silly questions like whether we could go up in an airplane to pick him up from heaven and bring him back down.  They have asked sweet questions like whether he can catch the kisses that we blow up to heaven for him.  But I have to say that the question that touched me most of all was a few weeks back when we were talking about being thankful for having a nice house to live in with comfy beds.  Kaylee looked at me so seriously and asked:

"Do you think Uncle Rickey gets to sleep on a big fluffy white cloud up in heaven?"

It caught me off guard for a second as their questions tend to do, but I quickly told her that I thought she was exactly right.  That I thought Uncle Rickey got to sleep on the biggest, fluffiest cloud of all.   That  response seemed to make her happy and it also brought a smile to my face.  Nothing like the innocence of childhood!

We love you to the clouds and back Uncle Icky!
