Expressions

One of the {million} things I love about K&A is all of their unique expressions. I love that their faces show exactly what they are feeling and thinking and even more so, I love the innocence behind that. They are an open book and at their age they don't really have to worry about hiding their true feelings. Wouldn't it be great to be able to do that as adults? At least every once in a while?

I have often been told that my girls know how to make some faces. Especially Miss Alyssa. She has been known to give quite the look and has embarrassed me many times. Ever since she was an infant she has had the ability to give you a "You are a total moron" look that can stop anyone in their tracks. At times, this can be very uncomfortable especially for Mommy but it is just another thing to laugh about and that she will hopefully grow out of with time.

I was taking a look through some photos I took over the past week and realized that I captured a few of their interesting expressions and thought I would share some here.

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we took a family trip to "Kasper's Kastle" held at Serenity Farms, in Southern Maryland. They offer a wide variety of activities for the little ones including a hayride, petting farm, cartoon characters, kastle, small corn maze, and finally the pumpkin patch. This is our second year going and it was neat to see how much the girls have changed in just one short year. They really had a great time with all aspects but I believe the big hit was choosing their "punkins."

They have been talking about pumpkins ever since they made craft pumpkins and say pumpkin songs at daycare. They can't get enough. In fact, I thought they were going to try to sleep with the pumpkins last night!

Here are a few photos from our trip.

Changes

"Change" seems to be the theme lately for the Robles Family. We have been super busy these past few months as we prepared to move and dealt with all of the other adjustments that came along with that. Tony had the fun yet totally exhausting job of updating the house to make it our own (he did a wonderful job). And, I had the job of packing up, organizing our stuff, and the hardest job of all, finding a new daycare provider for the girls.

As it turned out, finding a new daycare was probably the hardest part of adjusting to this move because we all loved the girls daycare provider. They are a wonderful couple who watched the girls from the time they were 7 months and the girls simply adored them. We will miss them and try to visit often. My main reason for switching them was that it would be well out of my way to drive there to pick them up and I would get home much quicker if I moved them closer to our new house. I found a great new place for them to go and after much crying and worrying (on my part), we made the big switch. I am happy to report that the girls are doing wonderful. They do arts and crafts everyday and love to show off what they made when I pick them up. They have plenty of kids their age to play with, including 3 year old twin girls, and seem to have adjusted without any problems. What a relief!

Next up, was the actual move. I have to admit that neither of us felt totally ready for that. It was a lot of stuff to organize and move. Of course, I should say a lot of stuff for Tony and the guys to move. My main job was to supervise and I will take that job any day! Luckily, the move went smoothly and we spent our first night in the new house last Saturday. It was a bit emotional for us because we will miss seeing all of the family everyday but it went a lot better than I was expecting. The girls love the new house and run around exploring every inch of their new space. We set up a toy room for them and they love it but the toys never seem to stay in the toy area. :-)

Overall, everything has gone much more smoothly than I anticipated and we should be all settled in very soon. And.... that will allow us to prepare for the next biggest change set to come our way.....

Preparing to become a family of 5 in about 7 months! The girls have their "Big Sister" in training shirts already and they say they are ready for Mommy to have a baby. We will see how they feel about that once they realize what it means! HaHa. They have cast their votes and Kaylee is hoping for a little brother while Alyssa is hoping for a little sister. Mommy and Daddy would be happy with whatever we get but having a little boy sure would be nice! We should find out in early December when I hit the 20 week mark.

Getting Ready for Halloween (and maybe Easter too!)

Ready for Halloween? Alyssa decorated Daddy and Kaylee with these sparkly pumpkin stickers over the weekend. Don't they look pretty? :-)

But, it didn't take long for the girls to switch gears and Kaylee turned into an Easter Bunny complete with bunny ears and carrying around another pink bunny. As Kaylee would say, "hippity-hop!"
